world’s deadliest season

i’ve been pretty addicted to the dicovery channel these last few weeks. mythbusters, worst shark attack and now world’s deadliest season have been rockin’ my socks.
in the world’s deadliest season, the king crab season in the bering straight is filmed from the viewpoint of 3 different boats. so far, one has been killin’ it, one had a mechanical problem, and the third has been in shitty waters. not to mention the boat that the coast guard had to rescue. it tipped 90 degrees!
now i’m sure you’re thinking, ‘ellen, you’re a pretty hip girl…what are you doing up watching stinky men catch crabs?’ and if you weren’t thinking that, i have to admit that i am…
i mean, its like the lotto. these guys from all over the world get together for a week. in just days they can bank up to $150,000! well, i guess its like the lotto plus being wet and risking death. these guys have to work on a ship deck thats pummeled by frightening waves having been awake for around 35 hours at a time.
as they pull up the crab pods, they could be completely filled or empty. the crews reactions are priceless. i mean, what can i say? i’m a sucker for bottom dwellers and sea captains…shame.

I’ve experienced this show through the N’s. I think I’d be more excited if I were sitting in front of the tube with some crab meat tools and a snow crab. Except I don’t eat them. I just nuke them. With tools. Gross.
